About Me

My name is Keagan Shatos. I’m a musician, guitar player, and music educator from the Seattle area. I was inspired to learn the guitar at age 15, after listening to artists like Black Sabbath, Led Zepplin, Soundgarden and Jimi Hendrix. After sinking my teeth into rock classics, I went on to absorb all the music I could by playing in my school concert bands, jazz big bands and a few of my own rock bands. I had the opportunity to compete at state and national competitions and took part in clinics and masterclasses with many amazing music educators. During college, I started gigging with my band Eastsound around the local Seattle scene. We also recorded and self-released our first album.
When a younger family member of mine expressed interest in learning guitar, I started giving them lessons. I quickly discovered I had a passion and a knack for teaching and opened my current studio.
Through my teaching I hope to share the joys of music with my students, and to give them the tools and confidence to express themselves and achieve their musical goals.
