Usually around age 8. Before that, kids often don’t have the finger dexterity or attention to make proper use of music lessons. If they can write with a pencil, are motivated, and can focus for 30 minutes, they’re probably ready to try playing.
Absolutely not! As long as you have reasonable mobility in your fingers, time to practice, and the proper mindset you can succeed.
The more you practice, the faster you will improve. That said, around 20 minutes 5 days a week is sufficient to make good progress. Consistency matters more than total time.
Most people find some form of notation to be useful, but there are many kinds! (Fretboard diagrams, tabs, chord charts, standard notation, drum loops, and even MIDI piano roll). I’ll teach you what interests you and fits your needs.
